When traveling anywhere as an observant Jew you know that there are always obstacles. For me there are less than others who observe stricter mitzvot. Anywho, when I was making my travel arrangements I new it would be difficult to continue my practices but I have been determined in the past and I knew I could do it this time. Well that was before I landed. Now my head is so mixed up yesterday I thought a poster of Madonna was Michael Jackson. that was my stupid attempt at humor. Laugh. Having been here for the past week I am confident that there are no Asian vegetarians. Every dish has some sort of chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, squid, crab, or other tref as they call it. It has caused more than a few small and frustrating meal times for me. The other day I ordered vegetable fried rice and the items in the picture to the left appeared in it along with shrimp. I am happy to report that I have made it so far and i have found some places to go where I can get a decent meal. Ill keep you posted on my new experiences and findings in this department.

Keep us posted on the dietary trials and tribulations - it does sound challenging. Are those potato chips in the slideshow? They look interesting. If you can, title your pictures in the slideshow so we know who, what, where we are looking at. - Bruce
ReplyDeleteHey, Jared, your mom &/or dad thinks you're holding potato chips in that pic, it looks like you're holding a flower of some kind to me... solve the mystery for us. I read all your blogs to Nana Toby over the phone today, while Pop-Pop Moish was watching the Eagles game on tv. I'm sure Pop will read them soon. Did anyone in the family ever tell you that Becca (I'm assuming she's the brown-haired girl in the pics) looks like cousin Shari in a quick glance? (She looks younger and cuter, but reminds me of shari). I'm going to email you a a few pics of Shari to see what you think. Later, Aunt Sandy
ReplyDeleteLooks like squid.
ReplyDeleteHows Becky's Chinese holding up?
