VIVA

What a night. Coldplay really did pull all the stops for this one. When I saw online that this was a 160 stop tour and most concerts were around 20 song set lists I was pretty excited. I mean its not every day you get to see a concert in Hong Kong. I must admit that the ride to the venue was a bit long and frustrating especially on the way back but none the less we made it there. The band played a great show with an eclectic mix of their older music like yellow clocks and the scientist and some of there new viva la vida hits. But not only was the music really good but it was genuine. You could tell that not only were they definatly not lip syncing but also that they were enjoying themselves tremendously. Every new song that came on had a new twist on stage. First, was the balloons which were dropped from the ceiling at the start of yellow bouncing around the concert hall from section to section. There were also black lights and lasers. I think there were two maybe three parts of the show that really made it special. First, The backdrop was sweet. At first a fresca of a beautiful woman which looked like a painting untill 2 songs in it started moving and changing which lead to a number of different backgrounds most of which seemed to be projected to the background and were video. There was one sequence when the whole back was the shot which was being displayed on the small side screens this was really cool because the shot in the smaller screens had the shot of them that was on the back drop. And Second, the globes. I know it sounds crazy but they had half a dozen globes that were hanging from the ceiling but what made them cooler than cool was that somehow they were screens. Always displaying a new image of either the band or a cool picture. I dont know if ill ever figure out how they did that but it was awesome. I wish I could go to another concert here before I leave Anywho
