Haad Sadet, Heaven on Earth... well maybe not but you can see it from there
After our 13 hour train ride to the southern reaches of Thailand we still had a bit of traveling to do as you read in my previous posts but after a day of travel we arrived at a bungalow scattered beach were we chilled out and relaxed for a few great days. When we arrived it was getting late but we could see the lights of a few small restaurants. They were great little places and everyone was really nice. Over the course of week we would try each restaurant and by the end we were pros. If we wanted pasta this restaurant, breakfast at that restaurant. We were shown to our rooms which were two beautiful four person bungalows seated on rock cliffs overlooking the ocean. These bungalows were a few hundred feet from the beach but the walk was over a carefully planned rock path which curved along the water at some points even covered or soaked from water splashing up. The vistas were amazing and was well worth the five minute walk. Each time we left our room it was like a mini tour/adventure. Anywho, the bright blue water splashing up against the rocks at night as we slept was great and soothing. Each bungalow came with a full canopy bed and an upper floor with amazing window views and two singles. Each bed was fitted with mosquito nets which surrounded the beds and did wonders at night. On the porch there was a small table and chairs, as well as some hammocks we were given, hung up by yours truly. Anywho, ill be using it twice in this post to make up for the last on, it was amazingly peaceful and just what I needed. We sat in the hot sun for the afternoon hours and then went back to the bungalows and relaxed until around dinner time when we picked one of the restaurants to eat at. Then back to the bungalows for some music and then bed. Ive decided to save the best for last. This supper secluded beach had two features which made it an A++ travel destination for me. First, because it was so secluded it the bungalows were all powered by a generator which went off at 12 midnight turning off all power on the beach leaving us with candles and flashlights to get around with but really there was no where to go except the bathroom. There was something peaceful about the stillness of the area after the generators were shut off. Just you and beautiful nature. In that vein there was no cellphone reception. There is one thing to be roaming and turn your phone off cause you dont want to waste money and minutes and there is another to not be able to make any calls. While on the beach we need ed to make two calls which we were eventually able to make from the hotel office but by in large there was not communication to the outside world. Just the beach and it was great. I wasnt worried about a thing except burning for three days. I cant wait to find another gem like this in the reaches of south-east Asia. Stay on the look out for new pictures, I will upload them soon.

wow that sounds really incredible. im especially jealous of the mosquito nets, which would have been useful the whole time i was in thailand, but super super useful when we were on phi-phi island and me and a mosquito got snuggly one night haha. i woke up and both my legs were just completely COVERED in giant red mosquito bites that took forever to go away and itched so bad i could barely think about anything else. so kudos on having mosquito nets lol..and, of course, the peacefulness of the beach...none of us had cell phones in thailand anywhere at all, and i agree with you that it's such a crazy feeling.
